Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the DIY Trips app. By creating an account or buying anything, you agree to them.
Last updated 17 September 2026
1. Who you are dealing with
DIY Trips is operated by DIY Trips (“we”, “us”). Contact us any time at support@diytrips.com.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- The information you give us must be accurate, and you are responsible for keeping your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
- We may suspend or close an account that is being used fraudulently or in breach of these terms.
3. What we sell
Video guides
A video guide is a set of videos tied to locations on a route. When you buy one you get a personal, non-transferable licence to stream it for your own use, for as long as we operate the service. You do not own the videos, and you may not download, copy, resell, or show them publicly.
Some guides are free. Free guides are subject to these same terms.
Attraction tickets
Tickets are supplied by third-party providers, not by us. When you book one, your contract for that experience is with the provider, and their terms — including their rules on changes, cancellations and what happens in bad weather — apply to it. We show their price, rating and availability as they give it to us.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices are shown in the app before you pay. The total on the checkout screen is what you are charged.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see your card number.
- Promo codes must be applied before payment. They cannot be added to a completed purchase.
- Prices can change, but a change never affects something you have already bought.
5. Refunds
Video guides
If a guide does not play, is not what was described, or you were charged twice, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund it. Because guides are delivered immediately, we do not otherwise offer refunds once a guide has been watched.
Tickets
Refunds and cancellations for attraction tickets follow the provider's policy, which is shown before you book. Contact us and we will help you raise it with them, but we cannot override their terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Record, download, redistribute or resell any video guide
- Share your account so that others can use content you bought
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to break into any part of the service
- Submit false reviews, or use the app to harass anyone
7. Content you submit
If you leave a review, you keep ownership of it but give us permission to display it in the app. We may remove content that is unlawful, abusive, or obviously fake.
8. Availability
We try to keep the app running and the catalogue accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Guides stream over the internet and need a connection. Features may change or be withdrawn over time.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We are not responsible for what happens during an experience you booked through a third-party provider. That is between you and them.
10. Ending your agreement
You can stop using the app at any time and delete your account. Deleting your account ends your access to guides you bought.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use DIY Trips after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which DIY Trips is registered, and disputes will be heard by the courts of that jurisdiction.
