Delete your account
You can ask us to delete your DIY Trips account at any time. You don't need the app installed to do it, and you don't have to give a reason.

How to request deletion
Email support@diytrips.com from the address your account is registered to, asking us to delete it. Sending from the registered address is how we confirm the request is really yours.
Open a pre-filled deletion request
If you no longer have access to that address, write to us anyway and we will find another way to verify you.
You have 30 days to change your mind
Deleting isn't instant and it isn't a trapdoor. If you sign in again within 30 days, your account comes back exactly as it was — your wishlist, your reviews, and every video guide you bought. You don't need to contact us to do it. Just log in.
After 30 days the account and its data are erased for good, and at that point it cannot be recovered by us or by you.
What happens, and when
- We confirm your request by email, usually within 2 business days.
- Your account is deactivated straight away. You are signed out, and nobody can use the account while it is in this state.
- For the next 30 days, signing in restores everything.
- On day 31, your data is permanently erased, apart from the records listed below. We email you once it is done.
What gets deleted
Once the 30 days are up, we erase:
- Your name, email address and password
- Your wishlist — saved tickets and saved video guides
- Any reviews or ratings you left
- Your access to every video guide you bought
What we have to keep
A small amount of data survives deletion because the law requires it:
- Purchase and payment records, kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. These are retained as financial records and are no longer linked to a usable account.
- Records of bookings already made with ticket providers, which those providers hold under their own terms. Deleting your DIY Trips account does not cancel a booking or delete data held by a provider — contact them directly for that.
Before you delete
The 30-day window covers most changes of mind. Past that, a few things are worth knowing:
- Video guides you paid for are lost once the window closes, and a new account does not restore them. There is no refund for guides lost this way.
- Any upcoming attraction booking stays booked, whether or not you delete. Cancel it with the provider first if you don't want it.
- Deleting does not automatically cancel anything you have already paid a provider for.
If you only want to stop receiving email from us, you don't need to delete anything — just say so and we will unsubscribe you.
